Petzl RIG - Compact Self-braking Descender

The Petzl Rig is an effective yet simple compact self-braking descender, which enables Tree care professionals to safely and easily position themselves at the work area through using a handle to lock the device in place on the rope.
Climbers can unlock the rope and controls the descent with the hand on the free end of the rope, position themselves at the work area without the inconvenience of having to tie of the device. Handle storage position minimises the risk of snagging when the descender is being carrier on the harness.
The pivoting cam facilitates taking up the slack in the rope. Also, this descender can be used to make a progress-capture haul system, and for short ascents (in conjunction with a FOOTAPE or FOOTCORD foot loop and an ASCENSION handled rope clamp)
